I think she will go anyway. Maybe you could tell why you wouldn't recommend her to go there?

Maybe because its Eastern Turkey, place where most of kurdish people live and its a little bit difference between this part of country and places like Alanya. Maybe he ment that. I have been to Diyarbakir (not so far from Bismil) and everything was fine. But I knew the differences between Alanya and other places.
Before she will go there she should learn (if she didnt)how is the difference of it.
But in fact for me Eastern Turkey is more turkish than Western Turkey amd I love it. It depends on person. I would never say her to not go, but if she wants to go, she should learn about this place. And she should be sure of his boyfriend in case of any problem there.

Of course, sweetim, you should make preparations for this kind of a trip. But I am sure it iwll be a very eye-opening trip for her. I just don't like when people tell you not to go somewhere without giving any proper reasons. Sure Antalya is different than Mardin. Antalya is a great place to get tanned, have fun and spend relaxed days. But Mardin might show a different side of Turkey.

There is a programme on ATV yersiz yurtsuz this is filmed in Mardin. It's my favourite programme on Turkish television.
Trinsle I hope you enjoy your time in Mardin.

I think it is impossible to say if they will be angry or happy. Probably happy, if you have to choose from these two. It depends on what your boyfriend has told about you and what he's family knows about you, if you have had contact (phone, mails, sms) with them. I would suggest you not to wear the smallest clothes and learn a few words of TUrkish if you don't know yet. Help around in the house and smile a lot! I think that will take you far already. Maybe someone else can give you better hints as I have never been to the Eastern part of Turkey.
